The adventure to the lake (Jeremiah)
Hey people out there Jeremiah speaking. Well we are here at the lago de atitlan. I´m writing from maya internet. Today we visted a lot of co-ops that had been formed by mayan women. In this they will make more money and be able to possibly pay for their children to go to schools to get an education. I personally gave them a lot of quetzales today because i liked their work and decided to buy a blanket and 3 skarfs. Everyone chipped in though by things from the womens co-op they were real sweet women.

I thought you guys were going to go to Quezaltenango? Did you end up going there or not? Just as a reminder your Great Grandmother was born in Quezaltenango. Take good pictures. Miss you...Mom Mayra

sounds like you're having a great time, and you're visiting some of the most beautiful places in Guate (Antigua and Atitlan= my favorites!) When great grandma was young she used to wear the traditional "traje" like the women at the markets. If you get a chance have some tamalitos de chipilin and go to "Pollo Campero" the Guatamalan KFC. take care y portate bien :)
