Collin on Day 5
We Travled to San antonio palopo which is a town on Lago De Atitlan. we visited a school in the community and all the kids were very excited to see us. we came right when they started the recess and we got to take pictures of them and play soccer with them. then we got to talk with the director of the school and i was able to give the pencils and paper to the school. we went to a ceramics co-op and i bought a cup, i hope it doesnt break on the way back. my stomach feels much better. today is tuesday and we went to the town of santiago by boat. we visited a coffee co-op and bought 38 pounds of coffee hahahhahaha we got to ride in the back of a pick up truck all around Santiago. then we visited a memorial site for one of the massacures, which was in town that lost 800 people to hurricane stan last october. the town felt of sadness and depression because the town was origanilly 1200 people. its still beautiful and hot. ill be home in two days i love yall back home and i hope the rain has stopped love collin

Hi Sweetie! What wonderful thoughts you've shared about this amazing trip. As you can see you have lots of friends and family checking in on your trip. So glad that you are feeling better. What a gift Ms. Manuel has shared with all of you! Miss you and believe it or not it is still raining. No baseball for the team i'm sure. Safe journey home. Can't wait to see you and hear more and see your pictures!
love and hugs Mom
So fun to see your smiling face Collin! Glad your tummy is better too. Have a very safe trip home! Looking forward to hearing all about your experience! Hey--the sun is shining brightly here in WI. and maybe 55 degrees warm today! Big hugs-love ya! Aunt Lori and all
Great photos, handsome-ness!
I'm so happy and overjoyed that you are all able to see the benefits and NEED for fair trade, there is a lot we can do when you get back to promote that more. It's always been a passion of mine. There is the same issue with cotton for jeans...so much more to discuss on that note. Tell Ms. M. thank for me for exposing you all to that. Its so important and amazing how most of this country is oblivious. (told you it was a passion of mine!)
I'll miss you in class tonight, I'm going to try and make a huge medallion, we'll see how that turns out. Your mom and I tried out a new vegie chinese place in my hood, you'll love the "prawns". :)
Travel safe, take good care of you!
Love and hugs,
Renee

Hiya Collin, just had lunch with your fabulous mom and she was brimming with excitement to see you upon your return. I'm sure that the trip seemed to pass in the blink of an eye, but you now have stories, images, and insights to last a lifetime. Clche, I know, but oh so true! Look forward to seeing your pics. Will you post them on this site? Shawna
Collin,
I am sending this on your travel day back to the US so i hope you get this! - looks like a great trip and very valuable for all the people there whose lives you have touched. I am so proud of you for staying involved in so many cultural endeavors! Were you reminiscing about our trip to Tikal??? Hopefully it wasn't that scary!!
Would love to see your pictures and hear more about the trip!
Love, Chipper
